The Liverpool Bookshelf

Before he wrote The Redwall Series, Brian Jacques was very active on the Liverpool folk scene. He was part of the folk-singing group The Liverpool Fishermen. He had his many monologues and stories about Liverpool life published, first by Anvil Press, then by Raven Books. He penned his own stage play, which was performed at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. Ultimately, he wound up with his own radio show on BBC Radio Merseyside, Jakestown, which ran until the autumn of 2006. Here, The Long Patrol will be exploring this portion of Brian's life.
